Welcome back, IEP students!

Summer is finally over and in the past few weeks, students from all over the world boarded airplanes and traveled to Upper Iowa University, in northeastern Iowa. Some were coming to study English in the Intensive English Program, which this semester has students in all three levels, representing five countries.

Last week, they all gathered for a welcome picnic, to meet their instructors and international student assistants.

As well, they tried out typical American games, such as football, cornhole, ladder golf, and Frisbee.

The students were all upbeat and positive about the upcoming semester. “I just want to study English and make friends,” intermediate student Marino Ramirez said. If the first week is any indication, it will be a good semester for everyone.
